Njeriu i mençur e ka gjuhën pas zemrës

Është transmetuar se Hasan El-Basrî  rahimehUllah , ka thënë:

Gjuha e njeriut të mençur është pas zemrës së tij: kur ai dëshiron të flasë, ai së pari mendon. Nëse [fjalët e tij] do të jenë në favorin e tij, ai i thotë ato dhe nëse ato do të jenë kundër tij, ai nuk flet. Dhe zemra e personit injorant është pas gjuhës së tij: kur ai thjeshtë mendon për të thënë diçka, ai e thotë atë, nëse ajo është për të ose kundër tij.

The Place of the Heart and the Tongue

It is reported that Al-Hasan Al-Basrî – Allâh have mercy on him – said:

The intelligent person’s tongue is behind his heart: when he wants to speak, he first thinks. If [his words] will be in his favor, he says them, and if they will be against him, he does not speak. And the ignorant person’s heart is behind his tongue: when he merely thinks of saying something, he says it, whether it is for or against him.
