Shaykh Rabee hafidhahUllah’: Kindly Ask Him to Clarify Their Errors if He is not with Them
February 21, 2013

A questioner asks, “How do we interact with someone who swears that he is not form the Muslim Brotherhood; yet, his actions and thoughts are those of the Muslim Brotherhood?”
The noble Shaykh Rabee’ Ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee (1)/(2), may Allah protect him, answered:

If he has sworn; yet, we have doubt about his truthfulness due to the fact that they are from those who speak in a diversionary manners and from those who lie. He will swear and testify at the K’abah that he is not from the followers of Sayid Qutb (Qutbee) or from the Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwaanee). They have been nurtured upon lying, and they do not wage war against their adversaries except with lies. They do not have any proofs with them.

However, say to him: ‘Kindly put forth some proof about what you have said (i.e. denied). Speak about the Muslim Brotherhood and warn against them.’ If he refuses, he is from them.

If he refuses, say to him: ‘I believe you; however, traverse the path of the Salaf as-Saalih. The Salaf as-Saalih unanimously agreed upon the obligation of warning against the people of misguidance, so clarify, warn against them. If you are a Salafee, traverse the methodology of the Salaf with regard to being clear and making things clear.’If he clarifies and criticizes them, then we whole-heartedly believe him, and if he doesn’t, then he is from them. Have you learned [how to handle this situation]? This is the way [to determine his truthfulness].
